There has been a little chat flying around this week. The boys of England told me that I must submit an application to companies for sponsorship of glazing agreement. But in fact the funniest moment arrived there and then, when some guys to collect glass who had fallen in the locker room. One of them walked at my location, right next to the gaping hole. Then I looked at and said "If that is the broken window?
It was a little like that famous moment when Mike Gatting had his nose splashed on his face by Malcolm Marshall, and a journalist asked him "" where hit you, Mike?""
When the repair guy threw into this question, I could hear Swanny and Cooky background, giggling. They were trying their best not to do, but that they could not themselves contain more - they burst just laughing. And as they gave the rest of the dressing room began to roll.
I had to even admit that it is very funny.
I suppose that I could get some stick in some quarters to take the incident lightly. Obviously, we were all very grateful that no one was seriously injured.
A piece of glass down as it was dangerous. But I must stress again that the rupture was caused by an accident not any act of violence on my part. I am aware that he was wrong, because I had just been exhausted, and that many people is bound to assume that I took it from the window. But this was not the case: he was one of those things strange that sometimes occur.
When it comes to the dressing room label, I was never a launcher of bat even in the more aggravating circumstances. And if something, run-out was the type of dismissal, that you can be quite philosophical. There are times where the State of the game which you dictates must be disinterested and try to score runs quickly, even if the chance to get out is high.
You do your best, but if your sleeves lasts not too long, you agree that more easily than if you had been playing yourself in carefully and seek to score 100.
Broken glass caused a cut to the ankle of a woman at a lower level of the Pavilion. Our doctor declined to ensure that it was OK, and then she came to the medical field by the locker room, so when I heard that she was there I course to offer my apologies. She was absolutely fine - in fact, it was very nice, accept my apologies and understand that it was an accident.
Since then I have watched the TV coverage and saw Andrew Strauss tire funny faces when he hears the sound of case-sensitive - as a headmaster who was left down by one of his students. And then there was Kevin Pietersen look and try to see exactly what had happened. All the guys have taken a great degree of interest in it, but it was Straussy reaction that made me chuckle, once I had on the initial shock.
In all, it was quite a match hectic for me. There were over 100 in the first round, and then by trying to keep wicket on the third morning when the ball turned somersaults over there. By 12 hours, I had so many diving autour I was absolutely exhausted.
Anyone who has kept wicket for the Lord knows that the ball tends to swing after the passage of the bat. This Sunday, she was more than I've ever known before. It is frustrating because I myself set high standards, and see the byes synchronization was indeed very discouraging.
But I've seen lots of replay, and sometimes you have to say "no way was I was never going to achieve that." As a team, it was interesting out one Test drawn game feel so disappointed. This just shows how used to win this side of England has become and how ambitious - which I see as a very positive thing it. I hope that we can move this week to Southampton and cross the line. And with a little luck, I'll stay out of trouble.
