The ashes of 2010: what could retreat hold the Australia Captain Ricky Ponting?

Australia in 50-over cricket disappointing and testing with its own frappeurs form a recent comprehensive registration concern - it is only 83 runs in its six sleeves, this series - place was in doubt anyway. But now the little finger of his left hand fractured makes its position even more vulnerable.

If the 36 years at CRA 151-12,333 tests runs, hundreds of 39 and averaged 53.85 - what might the future hold for him?

It strikes me as a type of drag area of Channel 9 comment, and they are already tripled-stationed there any.

Former captains Richie Benaud, Mark Taylor, Ian Chappell and Bill Lawry are all scrambling to get a word in ways dashboard alongside Ian Healy, Michael Slater and Adam Gilchrist and sufficiently Mark Nicholas and Tony Greig (well, he leads in England, although he was born in South Africa and has lived in Australia since one of the last 35 years).

Benaud may or may not to retire his house on the coast of azure, but I do not see Ponting moving in to replace him.

So maybe coaching? As a man who could be the first Australian to lose three series of ash, may well expect a certain amount of veins of his youth, though you should never forget that he charges / is an amazing drummer.

Steve Waugh was press week last for his comments about (in its role as a member of the Board of cricket global CMC) lie detector tests. It has not declined comment or coaching road, adopting an eclectic mix of activities include writing, photography, companies and charities operate. There are even rumors that it may function as a candidate for the Australian Labor Party.

Ponting could become a selector - Allan Border took the road in 1988 by 2005 and did quite well (up to the last campaign in England).

Ponting and border, Kim Hughes was also a fine player, but unfortunately he will always remember for his resignation tears of the captaincy in 1984, then subsequent involvement turned into South Africa rebels. He spent a year as Chairman of selectors for the Australia and has been a commentator for ABC Radio.

Greg Chappell driven India and resurfaced now as selector full-time Australia, while Brian Booth tried his luck as a Liberal candidate for the Australian Parliament, but lost the election.

Bob Simpson is a brilliant coach, who helped rebuild the discredited Australia team lost to England in 1986-87 ash border.

Bill Woodfull became a Professor of Mathematics: summing up all these tracks - 13,388 cricket first class - happens in practice.

Ian Craig forged a successful career with boots the chemist, Arthur Morris joined another company of British Columbia Colombia, George Wimpey engineering society. If Ponting admits the ashes again, perhaps a grateful British society can be aligned. But it seems unlikely.

Hope Ponting avoided the fate of Clem Hill. He died of a tramway thrown in Melbourne.

Post-Playing days are unpredictable and not always happy. This is why Ponting will be praying that his finger heals so that it can play in Sydney and Melbourne and keep his test career and the harbour master's Office, living.
