Taylor, who should be named in the senior team of England for the first time for the next one-day series against Sri Lanka, has another year remaining on his contract with Leicestershire. Warwickshire have offered to buy him out of his contract and have indicated that they offer another player in exchange for the party to soften the blow of losing an emerging star.

Leicestershire, who has lost Stuart Broad Nottinghamshire four years ago, are expected to resist the initial approach of Warwickshire, but have known for some time that Taylor would be a target for the larger and richer neighbours. "We have had confirmation [approach], but we will consider with it in the House, said Leicestershire coach Phil Whitticase." From our point of view, it is a high-quality player and we want to keep him here as long as possible. »

The money is unlikely to be a problem in deciding future of Taylor, because it is one of the best paid players in Leicestershire, with a salary due to rise to more than £ 90 000 next year.

But it is understood to become unstable since Tim Boon, the Leicestershire cricket Chief, resigned last September, leaving them without a specialist batting coach.

Taylor is also likely to question if it can fulfil its ambition to play test cricket when Leicestershire are languished at the foot of the second Division of the County Championship. England selectors have desire to see him face more attacks in Division One.

Play cricket first Division on a ground of Test match could make Warwickshire an interesting proposal, especially as their Director of cricket, Ashley Giles, is also a part-time of England selectors.

But the issues are more likely to arise on the dual role of Giles, approached a player under contract. Three years ago, Gloucestershire and Derbyshire Giles after Warwickshire unsuccessful approaches for players. Giles denied that he had a conflict of interest, and it has been supported by the England and Wales Cricket Board country. Giles refused to comment on the approach of the Warwickshire for Taylor.

Taylor, 21, made 1,000 tracks of first class in each of the past two seasons and followed by a successful tour of Caribbean with the England Lions earlier this year.

His selection as an opener by the Lions for the match against Sri Lanka at Derby last month suggests that the selectors see Taylor as a potential of Andrew Strauss at the top of the order of England successor.

Warwickshire showed why they want to sign Taylor with an abject frappeurs display that saw their crushed by 10 wickets by Lancashire in T20 life friends from the past to Edgbaston.

Lancashire slow left - arm Stephen Parry claimed four competition-best for 23 as Warwickshire limped-109, their lowest total of ttwweennttyy. Misé Lancashire home with more than seven overs to spare.

Victory of Lancashire is the sixth victory 10-window in the history of the competition and left Warwickshire still seeking their first victory at Edgbaston this season.
