Never been final day and the only Glamorgan lost several matches of group, but their signature of New Zealand drummer Martin Guptil gives a chance to make stages knockout for the first time since 2005. Coach recently ousted from players John Morris thus will have only themselves to blame if they lack once again.
Durham
The Kings of washing of competition — 11 of their 73 matches were no result - but does that partly excuse their balance to a final day appearance. Potential to do well if frappeurs big Ben Stokes and Ian Blackwell fire and the South Africa drummer David Miller settled.
Essex
A blown their chances and a lot of money when they hired West Indies All - Rounder Dwayne Bravo also overseas flop last season's final day. New Zealand pair Tim Southee and Scott Styris look better signatures. Holland, Ryan ten Doeschate, England discard Ravi Bopara and Graham Napier usually provide the fireworks.
Glamorgan
Have the worst record player in the history of T20 having lost 41 of their 73 matches - despite reaching day of final seven years ago. Burly Australian Mark Cosgrove is returned as a foreign player, but much more is necessary, on the one hand, who won only eight games in two seasons.
Gloucestershire
Extol the signature star of the tournament of this year to Muttiah Muralitharan, but even the Sri Lankan magician is perhaps not able to evoke a place in the quarter-final. Have finished bottom of their group in each of three seasons since they were beaten by Kent in the 2007 final, so cannot do worse.
Hampshire
Taking the title, but have difficulty to extinguish their best side because of injuries. Captain Dominic Cork is in its 40th year but retains the enthusiasm of a man half his age. Former captain of Pakistan's Shahid Afridi adds value.
Kent
No money, no foreign player yet and you might think, without hope. Previous form having won the competition in 2007, but much depends of All-Rounder Darren Stevens and England-spinner James Tredwell to one side with experienced batsmen but rookie seamers.
Lancashire
Have played the matches more — 80 - than any other side in this competition and only Warwickshire have won more than 44 of Lancashire. Slow left - arm Stephen Parry is a specialist in the competition but the loss of All-Rounder Farveez Maharoof in requirement for Sri Lanka Test a blow.
Leicestershire
Known as ttwweennttyy Kings when they won the competition in 2004 and 2006, but the Crown has slipped a long time ago. A failed to win a match at home last season but the availability of the All - Rounder Australia Andrew McDonald a bonus. Hope to add to the All - Rounder Abdur Razzaq Pakistan revive fortunes.
Middlesex
A received much publicity for signing Adam Gilchrist the season final but still missed the quarter-finals. South Africa All - Rounder Ryan McLaren, but may be the best value having helped Kent the T20 win four years ago.
Northamptonshire
19 Years ago they last won a trophy, but they made their best start to a season since 1985. Start the T20 as the only unbeaten side in all cricket this season and added, specialist competition Johan Botha, the South Africa off-spinner, Andrew Hall, Chaminda Vaas and James Middlebrook shaped versatility.
Nottinghamshire
A began to tackle this contest and correctness missed next to the final of last season. Destructive Australian David Hussey, return of the IPL, must just 151 runs exceed Brad Hodge as the leading run scorer in the history of the T20 cricket.
Somerset
No doubt be brushed on laws had missed the season title last through their inability to run off Dan Christian of Hampshire. Powerful outfit with Marcus Trecothick still dominant attacks counties and Alfonso Thomas return of the IPL. Unavailability of beginning of Kieron Pollard is a shot.
Surrey
A won the first T20 in 2003 and still boast the fourth best record in the competition despite not having been on the day of the final phase since 2006. Australian seamer Dirk Nannes is a decent replacement for the injured Shaun Tait and Jason Roy exciting talent.
Sussex
A lot of good cricketers of bit and pieces perfectly adapted to this competition they won in 2009. Slow arm left of Mike Yardy and South African always effective at county level Wayne Parnell adds pace. Arrival delayed Gül Umar due to visa problems is a setback.
Warwickshire
Won matches more than any other side in the competition, but do not yet have the trophy. Day of the final phase since 2003 have not reached and breached on three previous days of final Edgbaston. New Zealand-spinner Jeetan Patel recruited as a foreign player but hopes to attend their own party at Edgbaston August 27 may rely on the ability of Neil Carter and Chris Woakes versatility.
Worcestershire
Never been to the day of the final and were unhappy when they won five of their 16 games of last season. Only the Gloucestershire lost more than games. Rely on spin to transform things with Bangladesh slow left - arm Shakib Al Hasan and Pakistan - spinner Saeed Ajmal signed as specialists of competition.
Yorkshire
Never gone beyond the quarter-finals and often flatter to deceive in this competition. Handicapped by the absence of a foreign player due to financial constraints but the availability of the England seamer Ajmal Shahzad bonus. Canny spinners Adil Rashid and David Wainwright
