Westwood said Warwickshire last month that he wanted to resign as captain to concentrate on his stick but Ashley Giles, Director of County Cricket, he was asked to reconsider.
But Westwood said now Warwickshire will be wants their captain for a third season after having fought for combining the role of openness to the stick.
"I tried to convince Ian to reconsider, but his mind was made up," said Giles. "It is a little difficult character and he said that he made his decision for all the right reasons, I respect.
Westwood position appeared vulnerable when he stepped down as captain of t20 Warwickshire in mid-season due to a lack of running gave Jim Troughton's first taste of the captaincy.
Westwood then lost its place alongside Warwickshire CB40 for last three matches of the season and was watching from the balcony of flag to the Lord when Ian Bell skipped on the side of the title with the victory of Somerset in the end of September.
"It is difficult for the captain directing side in all forms of cricket these jours.Les applications are enormous, said Giles.".
"Quantity of cricket, we play, and the intensity with which he played place increased demand on captains and it becomes increasingly more difficult for a man to work."
"It is something that we have to look at the time and it may in the future it is a work that is shared between two or three people.
Westwood is the eighth change County Captain since the beginning of the season last after Chris Rogers (Derbyshire), Will Smith (Durham), Jamie Dalrymple (Glamorgan), Mark Pettini (Essex), Shaun municipal (Middlesex), Nicky Boje (Northamptonshire) and Vikram Solanki (Worcestershire).
Warwickshire will have two players with the experience of the international captaincy on their books next season Ireland skipper Will Porterfield and former Captain Younus Khan Pakistan.
Porterfield has not yet fully settle in county cricket and could be seen as an outsider to employment .Younus, condition allow its international commitments, seems stronger candidate.
Darren Maddy has the experience of the captaincy but as Westwood, stepped down to concentrate on sound to the bâton.Mauvaise Troughton form last season means that he could guarantee not a place in next season side.
In the meantime, former England one day international Jamie Dalrymple was replaced as captain of Glamorgan taking the number of victims since the beginning of the season last eight.
Dalrymple was replaced as captain of Glamorgan South African drummer Alviro Petersen, who joins the Welsh County as their new player overseas.
Warwickshire have not yet decide successor to Westwood, but they are looking for their tenth captain in 14 seasons since Dermot Reeve, leading to six trophies between 1993 and 1995, has been forced to retire to injury at Midway until 1996.
