V of England in Pakistan: Kevin Pietersen and Stuart Broad shine for England in warm-up win World Cup

Andrew Strauss have lost in the third of their first meeting with Pakistan since the end of Test and limited-overs series last summer in acrimony thanks to spot pricing crisis.

Three players in Pakistan were subsequently banned for five years each by the International Cricket Council, but there was a look otherwise mundane to the opposition.

In front of a crowd of 16,000 - capacity hundreds had to queue outside and took their seats in the middle of England - innings was veteran bowler fast Shoaib Akhtar who struck first, as Strauss posted his second single-figure score in succession.

He followed a Wednesday run against the Canada in the same place with five today - ait, deburring uplift ugly leg with its stem.

Jonathan Trott joined Pietersen but could not go forward, and when left - arm Junaid Khan (three for 44) changed the angle towards the wicket, soon rewarded - a deposit after the number three missed clipping as it too aimed at leg.

Pietersen dominated by a stand of 70 with Ian Bell, go to its 50 by knocking off-spinner Saeed Ajmal for six along and seemed set for three figures until he went up to one-stop to slow down the left - arm Abdur Rehman and did not cover the spin.

Collingwood struggled from the start, and Bell was blocked off the coast of Ajmal when he made the ground only to miss an attempt to chip runs in the leg side.

Ravi Bopara has hit the ball cleanly but presents itself well to help put on 82 in only 12 overs - and Collingwood found his touch to reach 50 to 60 balls, in spite of manage only two limits.

After Bopara perforated to long - on, Collingwood - without a half-century in his last 11 international innings a day - and kept before Matt tempo high until a fine clatter of five wickets for 12 races like Wahab Riaz finished with three 52.

Large (five to 25), who took three wickets with the new ball and five in all two days ago in his first game since more than two months to Pakistan in instant trouble.

He was Mohammad Hafeez carefully considered at first Strauss sheet then has seen off the coast of a pair of Akmals - Kamran pinned IPN on off stump and Umar undone by low rebound to be reversed on the hind foot.

Younus responded with some typically sensitive hitter for half a century 70-ball.

But he needs support and in the absence of Shahid Afridi or Abdul Razzaq middle-order power, two hands-on surprisingly rested by Pakistan, it was not forthcoming.

Tim Bresnan, returning after his injury of veal, overthrown precisely - and much as James Anderson was a bit rusty, especially with the new ball, Strauss had a lot of backup options.

Collingwood and Anderson in wicket bags each when Asad Shafiq, then Ahmad Shehzad missed the biggest hits.

With nine years approach a longer required Misbah-ul-Haq has IPN Collingwood, attempting a reader - the long.

Younus left too much to do and finally fell in vain, appropriate case for broad when polling Director he edged large ball and was well caught behind by front.
