V England Sri Lanka: Captain Alastair Cook answers critics with powerful exhibition of the racing game

Cook at Trent Bridge sleeves took his score for this series of 267 runs at an average of 89. More important even for a man who likes to keep an eye on statistics, Cook will be pleased that his career come to 97.80 strike rate.

It is a good lick a player named a "plodder" before the beginning of the series by Mike Atherton.

Cook said that he had never hit the ball more sweet that he throws at a faster pace than its partner, Craig Kieswetter, the player, be deemed to be the fire starter at the top of the order.

"It is very rewarding," said Cook. "It is a reward for all the efforts, in that I put." I always knew I can play the game of the day and just be a question of proof to the people.

"You always have to prove yourself, but if I can keep drummer like that with this tempo, and I believe that I have shown in this series, then it will take me useful.

Cook of the Lord Sunday criticized the way Sri Lanka orchestrated a century for young batsman Dinesh Chandimal, so there would be accusations of double action if England had done the same for their captain.

Cook revealed Kieswetter offered from time to time for him to get a hundred of the engineer, but as Captain he established the first team.

"Everybody has a red ink [an out not] it's nice to see Craig hit a six and two to win the game,"Cook says. ".

"He asked about it." He said, "will I find or reached six." Therefore, he struck a six, which is fair enough.

"This is the team that is important, and not personal milestones."

England had requested a field with a lot of bounce at Trent Bridge and Member at Old Trafford, where the series will be decided Saturday, will be under pressure to leave plenty of grass on the surface. "When we saw the land, that was exactly what we asked, Cook said.

"The Member can take a lot of credit because she was brave to let a good grass on it." We want to just land with Report [at Old Trafford].

"Much has been done this window, but the way in which we cast at the end he shown is the best field that we played four games.".

England return to Nottingham next month for the second Test against the India and the focus is to go into this series. Cosmo Singh started the process yesterday by renewing his rivalry with Kevin Pietersen. Cosmo dismissed him five times in international cricket and their relationship fractured when Pietersen described as a "bait of pie".

"I know that good guy and I really want to throw pies more to him and others around him," Cosmo said. "And if my pies can contribute and receive from Pietersen and some other valuable wickets, I would be very happy."
