V England India: the history of the first test

Session one
India in England in a morning wet when play starts half to the late hour. Zaheer Khan broke the sequence of Alastair Cook of six trials consecutive half-centuries by pinning him LBW.
Verdict: drawn
England 43-1.

Second session
Zaheer has attracted Andrew Strauss in a bad hook shot, but then relieved with the hamstring strain that would dictate much in that the shape of this Test. Jonathan Trott made a stoic half century.

Session 3
Rain forced the players off the field at 15 h 50 and bad time returned to 6.25 pm, just when the teams were about to go back into the spotlight of the Lord.

Session one
It was a hard morning for drummers, Kevin Pietersen and Trott. Praveen Kumar rejected Trott IPN and could have had Pietersen captured, but he was rescued by the television replays

Second session
MS Dhoni reversed after lunch and his second was Pietersen caught behind, but even once, he was pardoned by rediffusion TV. Pietersen reached his first hundred in England for three years.

Session 3
England mercilessly flogged the bowling tiring India, adding 65 in the first hour of the session. The Declaration came when Pietersen reached his double hundred.

SATURDAY

Session One
The beginning of the renaissance of Stuart Broad, recalibrated its length and overturned the two openers. Sachin Tendulkar has stolen the show, receiving a standing ovation as he walked.

Second session
Broad claimed the wicket prized of Tendulkar, LBW transmit half and VVS Laxman and Dravid had to disappoint but dropped in the slips.

Session 3
Performance of fine bowling polished off the coast of the tail of the India, despite a superb resistance of Rahul Dravid, who finished 103 step out - the first 100 to the Lord by a member of the Indian team.

Session one
Ishant Sharma took three wickets of England Trust, the tooth swinging the ball in the right pace. Suddenly, there was a chance that the India could be chasing 300 to win the test.

Second session
Dhoni sent the wrong message by the opening of the session of the afternoon with spinner Suresh Raina. Matt Prior produced a significant other sleeves to lead England to safety.

Session 3
Tendulkar was absent due to a viral infection, whereas Gautam Gambhir took his radiographiƩ elbow. VVS Laxman came in to join the makeshift opener Dravid in a stubborn partnership.

MONDAY

Session one
Crowds queued through the night to attend the last day. England had to be patient. They have chained Dravid and were rewarded when he edged Anderson behind.

Second session
Broad thought he had Tendulkar LBW, but umpire Billy Bowden said "no". Hawk-Eye said that the ball was striking strains. Anderson was then Tendulkar was dropped, but him LBW two balls later.

Session 3
Dhoni feathered a catch behind and Harbhajan skied a pull as England edged more closely. Raina finally diverted an external whip for the journey of five-window Anderson before the end of the large game.
