The ashes of 2010: Kevin Pietersen launches Twitter tirade and labels Adelaide Oval groundstaff "pathetic."

Pietersen tweeted: "as an attendant check (sic) is 2 days prior to a test match." Cover nets when it rains perhaps? "PATHETIC"!

Like the rest of his teammates, Pietersen was forced into a clicking noise, which is not ideal so close to a big game. Having served pending on bats at the Gabba rained in his career, he clearly is itching to bat on a grass field something he refused when groundstaff failed cover the heights of practice before they wet.

But Aussie deposits or simple omission on the part of the groundstaff? Conspiracy theorists will no doubt have their word to say, but one thing he does not reveal is that PK is a great success and is always a good sign.

Monday, a fan of knitting of Massachusetts offered a free ticket for the ashes after his choice of the name of Twitter-@ theashes - led her be bombarded with messages from cricket fans.
