The ashes of 2010: Australia begin wins again, insists the captain Ricky Ponting

"We were very competitive in the second test India without obtaining the line as well." There is no sugar coating anything, we know we have some work to do and we know that we've not played cricket one day for a short time. We want to turn our fortunes and I think it's really important to start to get the feeling return winner. »

Ponting last year became the first captain of the Australia since Billy Murdoch in 1890 to lose two sets of ash Angleterre.Pour becoming the first to suffer three defeats ash to proceed would tarnish a surprising game record.

It is a class act in the House queue. Mike Hussey and Simon Katich beaters are fine, but their statistical no match for Tasmania, which has marked 12,250 runs in 148 tests 54.69 with 39 centuries, eight against England.

It is not the player he was--an average of 100 in 2003 and 89 in 2006 - but is still counter that tourists will be price more. But Vaughan said: "if he loses the series he ira.Il has lost the ashes of twice and has not won an ash in England either."Obviously, he won the 2006-07 5-0 ashes, but he had a better team to manage these record jours.Son in Australia is phenomenal, but it will be at its best, as a captain and a drummer put England under pressure.»

Ponting will have to wait before its ash frappeurs preparations begin seriously, however, as it has been set to miss one day international against Sri Lanka at Melbourne.Au rather than this it will travel to Launceston to her grandmother's funeral.

Ponting still hopes for good things to come out of 50-plus clash - the first of last resort in a series of three games providing Australia before Ash - in addition to this first win in six matches.

He is delighted to see Xavier emerging Doherty - just in time to add to Kevin Pietersen woes against spinners left arm.Stock of registered Tasmanian Ponting match digits seven to 145 in his more recent match against Victoria in Sheffield shield.

"He had some very good years did not it?Ponting says. "There is no doubt that it was probably performed best spinner in shorter forms of the game and it became a game-winner of Tasmanie.Un boy from Launceston, the same as me.»

Off-spinner Nathan Hauritz plays of New South Wales against Queensland he seeks the form in the game more longtemps.Doherty Hauritz versus Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar later in the series - perhaps in Sydney and Adelaide - perhaps intriguing.

Ponting holds also for Mike Hussey impressed after a double failure for the Australia against the Australia of Sud.Il is only 17, 28, 34 and 20 in said Inde.Ponting tests: "class as him players usually find a way so that it is."

The ashes of 2010: England leave their skills to speak on the ground, says Matt Prior

England to intimidate with skills not sledgingTheir silence: Matt Prior believes toboggan run is not helping England to win this picture winter ashes: ACTION IMAGES

Dismissal by a good lucks thousand would not but Matt Prior confirmed that Britain would not be trying mental disintegration Steve Waugh, how brutal verbal attack rubbed raw emotions language does not even Derek and Clive would with impunity.Instead of this, England will attempt to intimidate Australia with their mentality of the industry pack mixers; next to assume ever-alert Sergeant orchestrate a tenacious fielders force to ensure pressure is created, and then maintained.

"I will not take on the road to sledge," before said after nets Tuesday, after he had scooped the American Melbourne Cup winner in circulation team. "No intimidation, no luge, none of this. Instead of this will be a huge attention perform us our skills.

"We work very hard with bowling training get the ball in the areas where the card shufflers can mark."But when someone hit a good shot and a fielder delivers a big stop and throws the ball to the goalkeeper quickly, the dough is still grève.immédiatement, you can see how builds energy and intensity.

"You can certainly create pressure in doing these things and performing these skills without saying a Word, or launch a ball anyone." But if someone misfields, he suddenly became a very different perspective.

Harasses the beaters with aggressive defense isn't nouveau.En effect Australians probably invented it.

Gloucestershire were good at it too when John Bracewell was their entraîneur.Leur threatens fieldwork, supervised by Jack Russell, their goalkeeper, has greatly contributed to six titles one day they won the New Zealand was responsible for.

Before assumed this role of Russell for England, but without resorting to the idiosyncratic hairstyle. Before the esteem chivvying players and is a figure of the mother hen on the clutch comes naturally to him, but this last gambit will only work if England commit numbers to it.

"I am almost the master unit commissioning and it of my job to maintain energy levels and keep efforts, has said before.""But I'm not the only one out there and we must ensure that we are all doing these things as a unit to create an atmosphere of 11 men hunting and tackle the dough," said forward. "I have it had myself as a drummer and I know that it makes feel you very uncomfortable.

"I think Bell beaters works more."People coming down the height and you're not very good dough, though, the players are good to respond maintenant.Il arrived yet - it is a competitive game and there is place for banter nice - but I do not think that it is a strategy, we will use to take some ATMs. The feeling you get team is just your skills is fantastic. »

Before worked as a Stakhanovite his own skills with wicketkeeping Bruce French, England coach and the country of Wales Cricket Board, taking and credit.Always spicy before lost in bulk muscle of the upper body so diving hurts him less, whereas glovework movement and feet, specialty French, now that a good wicketkeeper.Son stick, while tending towards standardized counterattack still marks him out as primary goalkeeper-drummer England, not that it allows him to become comfortable in the role.

"" I played my entire career with the pressure to look over your shoulder, it is not something I'm afraid, is something I embrace and it gets the best of me ", stated before."I feel a large part of this team, but it is a set of old funny and things can very quickly turn autour.Il ago a number of very good keeper-drummers there, so it would be silly to say that I'm nailed sur.Mais if I do I am sure I am going to keep playing.»

As keeping objective, ATM maintenance has been more that its fair share of eccentrics, before is not one of eux.Il just gets and is, as the advertising said, what he says on the Tin .If anyone merit success here, it is.

"I came to some difficult moments, and it was all built for this tour, said before."This is a great perspective in front of me, and I can't wait.»

Australia suffer sixth straight defeat in all formats of game after a - wicket defeat in Sri Lanka ODI

The Australian cricketers produce another nightmare bottlenecks Wednesday, throw a seemingly impregnable position against Sri Lanka to extend their horror six consecutive defeats.

After this last brainstorm - a surprising implosion, even by recent standards - each English cricket fan must be fancying men Andrew Strauss to hang on the ashes urn this winter.

This is not so much the thin margin of victory of one-window of Sri Lanka, which was sealed when Muttiah Muralitharan titillé a limit to the fine leg, but the fact that the Australia allowed visitors to retrieve 107 for eight to overhaul their target of 240.

That is one of the unlikeliest escapes in the history of one-day internationals.Le type exhaust that Australia used to run themselves, in the days when they still believed in their divine law to govern the world of cricket.

Recent events have reversed polarity to the point where the modern Australian cannot work out originates from the next victory. They thought they had Mahendra Singh Dhoni and sound on the Indian side, beaten in Mohali a month ago, only for the VVS Laxman perform a miraculous feat, addition of 81 runs with no. 10 Harbhajan Singh as House Indian infiltrated by a one-stop shop.

Dynamics in Melbourne on Wednesdy was similar with Angelo Mathews in the role of Laxman and no. 10 Lasith Malinga Sri Lanka marking its inaugural day international half-century.The two men added 132 - stand ninth-window in any one day international cricket - before Malinga has exhausted for the winner.

It is now four months since the Australia won a cricket match.Since then, they have lost tests for Pakistan and India (twice) and three games limited-overs to start. For the last time that they have lost six matches in a row, you return to the winter 1996-97, where they had a rock against Courtney Walsh West Indian and Pakistani Wasim Akram patch.

The ashes of 2010: ready to go in search of their winning formula England

"The last thing we want to do this is their approach as a warm-up games." We want to achieve some winning momentum and fitness and play good clinical cricket. »

Although Strauss take the simulation as a projecting place in his blazer in England, possibly because this has not happened here, he is right to push for this rigorous preparation.

Four years earlier, preparing Britain includes also three games, but one was a limited overs match against XI the Prime Minister, while the other was 14-the-side case which is little more than glorified even with Glenn McGrath environmental practice bowling.

"I think that preparation was radically different from last time, except to be very precise to obtain levels high as quickly as possible," Strauss said.

"We also found that the time was time and is important for relaxation.Sur last visit here, everything was slightly more confusing.

This time, we are anxious of some earn upon departure and mode right test - match first .the two to three weeks Tour Australia is crucial because it sets the tone for the whole trip.»

Strauss, always be announcing teams before launch, would not be trained in either appoint the 11 against WA or recognizing would resemble most likely team England test logon.

That it confirmed, is that both James Anderson and Graeme Swann were available for selection, suggesting that they are now onto their respective geometry, a cracked rib Anderson movement and a bruised right thumb Swann.

"We will try to give the guys who are likely to be in 11 trials as cricket as much as possible but there is always one or two places to win in the side", Strauss was confirmed.

"I expect to give our best 11 all possible preparation, if one or two players get not all cricket they would like to, I am sure that they understand you why.

Two places, he speaks of is the rhythm bowling dock behind Anderson and Stuart Broad, currently held by Steve Finn and frappeurs in order in the Middle, occupied slot last summer by Eoin Morgan, but more likely to return to Ian Bell, now he is fully recovered his broken metatarsal.

Finn was a rival Chris Tremlett, as high and the fastest, but on the evidence of a practical way Wednesday, Finn was the collection, it is unlikely that do so immediately.

If Britain is to send their launchers to steamy Brisbane to acclimatise, instead of temperate Hobart, it is logical for the Quartet to play in the first two Jeux.Pas Strauss would confirm that is pointing out that it was too early in the round of these decisions.

"Sending launchers in Brisbane in advance of the consideration, it is one of the options we look," Strauss said.

"We are not 100 percent sure attack test what happens to be at this stage the flexibility is vitale.Nous want certainly our bowling attack to be acclimated Brisbane.Si we have an opportunity to be and if we do not we do."

One thing that will guarantee is some decent opponents in WA.Angleterre have not beaten since 1982-1983, your correspondent game played in.

Captain again by test player Marcus North, they have enough class Adam Voges and Luke Pomersbach give Strauss and his team training their thirst.

Further to the East, inoculate Australia follow-up after Sri Lanka losing the almost certain losing position be 107 for eight in victory after a ninth-wicket partnership worth 132 18 overs between Angelo Mathews and Lasith Malinga.

It would be unconstitutional for the England players not to rejoice in the hollow of the Australia although Strauss has admitted that their inability to beg borrow or steal a victory at the present time, was not something that could get too carried away with.

"I don't pay much attention at the games of the Australia at this time", he said. "It is always good to look and see what type of form are drummers, but if we start to tap on the back that Sri Lanka have overthrown the Australia inexpensively, consider it in the wrong direction.

"Australia in Australia is a game of ball différent.Nous are fully expect that they may be a hard to beat and all our preparations are intended to."

Possible teams

England: A J Strauss (capt), A. N. Cook, I J L Trott, K P Pietersen, P D Collingwood, I R Bell, M J before (SEM), S C J Broad, G P Swann, J M Anderson ST Finn.
